I might have missed this somewhere, but is there a release schedule for when the base images on Terra/AnVIL are updated? Or how long in advance they tell people? Or if old versions of the images are still useable after an update? I help run a workshop that use the base images to configure a number of environments and having that change too close or during the workshop would not be great. Thanks!

Apologies for the delay getting back to you.
We don’t have a defined release schedule for images, although we aim for once/twice a year. If version changes are a big concern, it might be worth planning for a “Custom Environment” which allows you to specify an older image so long as it’s publicly hosted. For example, you could use a specific commit of the RStudio / Bioconductor image.
It might also be worth notifying Terra Support that you are hosting an event, and requesting that they pause any major updates during that time. We’d also be happy to check internally for other updates if you have a future date set.
